The power of negative thinking.....

Got a message from my boss a few days ago saying that he couldn't issue my (or my assistant coach's) contract until we 'met face to face'. So at that point I'm convinced that I'm getting the axe. Considering the university had a 13 million dollar deficit last year this was not an unreasonable thing to assume. I was all prepared to go in there today and hear the bad news. Have to say that I would have been pretty bumbed since I have been involved with cheer since I was 14 and have been coaching for fifteen years. I wasn't sure how I would feel about not being a cheer coach. So much of who I see myself as is wrapped up in that role. But, come to find out I just took a hit to my budget and my assistant coach's stipend. Could have been much worse. There will still be the awesomeness that is Bulldog Cheer this year......and hopefully for many, many years to come. I mean, come on, I have THE BEST job in the world. I get paid to watch sports! Thank you Lord!
